Re: Firebird Superserver with Zeos extremly slow

First of All: Switch to 7.2! which improves the performance a loads! On the other hand ... nope not a real idea. Just a loads of known FB protocol issues.. Just have a look @: http://asfernandes.blogspot.ro/2009/07/network-latency-influence-on-firebird.html Do you use the FB2.5 client-lib? Be sure a...

ODBC Alpha testers thread

Hello Zeos-comunity! since Nicholas year 2015 i added two new Drivers "odbc_a" and "odbc_w". This will be the topic thread for first testers to share first experiences. To be clear: The new driver simply is a native access driver for all odbc-Drivers. In addition Microsoft declar...

Re: Thoughts about TZCachedResultSet implementation

The code changed loads. Intital goals of: - 7.2: high performance even if not everything is ready. However 7.2 performance in most test areas is minimum twice faster than 7.1. It includes first batch-bindings (dbc-layer only) and block cursor modes - 7.3: same goals of 7.2 but with new drivers i mad...

Re: Thoughts about TZCachedResultSet implementation

Hi sft, think about: your approach would work for NativeResultSets with a scrollable cursor only. Most plains just support forwardonly cursor. PostgreSQL and MySQL solve the scrollable and transactional (retaining) issues by moving all selected data to it's own libs. Oracle since V10 supports such a...

Re: D2010 + Firebird + Varchar doubles FieldSize?

Hi All, my code was the "HEAP"-Safe code which avoids a possible overrun. :!: But never discuss with the users ... :( so i did add a TZDataSet.Options enum doAlignMaxRequiredWideStringFieldSize which turns the logic around. Adding this option means reserve a "perfect fit" buffer,...

Re: Delphi XE 5 - 'TMysqlShutdownLevel' has no type info

Hi LEDFoot, seems like your'e tracking the root of the reported issue. Would it help to add these defines to the D2009+ section? { Reduce EXE size by disabling as much of RTTI as possible (delphi 2009/2010) } {$IF CompilerVersion >= 21.0} {$WEAKLINKRTTI ON} {$RTTI EXPLICIT METHODS([]) PROPERTIES([])...

Re: D2010 + Firebird + Varchar doubles FieldSize?

@ALL NOT A BUG!!! I wrote it serveral times in between. Note a 4Byte UTF8 encoded char (Chinese/Japanese f.e) needs 2 WideChars space. UTF8 Characterset requires 3/4Byte per Char (chinese overlongs up to 6Byte/char) so a 4/3Byte /FireBird reserved amount of bytes for one UTF16 char) will never fit i...

Re: ZDBC connection to MSSQL LocalDB

Please open a new thread for new issues.

Does this issue still remain? I did introduce the ISequentialStream reading for the Lobs (Which doesn't match this field -> no LOB its a oversized Unicode-varychar-Field. Lob would be NTEXT)

Re: 7.2-Beta testers-thread

Well ...
As far as i understand you are you starting from the premisse if FetchRow=200 than 200 rows are cached. Scrolling to end, fetch next 200 or something similar. Im i right, Michal?

If soo ... I do not see where this case is handled. Nowhere, sorry.

What do you think? Rollback?

Re: 7.2-Beta testers-thread

@EgonHugeist, @mdaems, All Warning!!! FetchRow(>0) absolute limits the data. Change in ZAbstractRODataset.pas r3594. Michal isn't it pupose of this property or am i wriong? This property strickly limits cached/retrieved data to a user specified limit. Do you have problems now? Except the Fetched da...

Well seems like we're talking about different things. No time for a detailed answer... Got it running in a different way. See attached zip file (made agains latest 7.2 from SVN and includes PG changed files only!). Note (Why i'm not surpriced if PosgreSQL came to shove and a new feature is born :?: ...
